Easter is a time of renewal and a time to reflect on our lives and our world.  We tend to get caught up in our own lives and time passes us by quickly.  In an ever more dangerous and polarized world, we typically fail to acknowledge God and the result is more chaos and discord.  This Easter, I would ask you to take a few moments and truly assess your lives, and if you find yourself unhappy, to seek out the way, the truth, and the light. We have become a society that has removed God from more and more of our daily lives and replaced him with worldly things. Our founding fathers built this country on God and his hand of protection was placed upon us. George Washington, along with members of the United States Congress, worshipped together at St. Paul's Chapel in Manhattan, on April 30th, 1789. They did so after the Inauguration of our first President of the United States, to thank God for this new republic and ask him for his blessing as they embarked on this grand experiment. G

With everyone in America now wrapped up and focused on Donald Trump, there are a few bad actors in the world that we definitely need to be aware of.  I will call them the Fearsome Five.  As our next President of the United States, he will have to deal with these particularly dangerous actors. Recognizing that they are a danger to America and then making the right foreign policy decisions will be crucial for the survival of our nation in the next few years. The Fearsome Five are Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, and The Islamic State (ISIS). Let's begin with Russia.  They are dangerous for two reasons, capability and intent.  Russia is led by Vladimir Putin, who is ex KGB, and very much a 19th century Realpolitik thinker.  He recognizes weakness when he sees it, and capitalizes on it.  It has become clearer in the last year or so, that Putin is looking to advance Russian hegemony.  From pushing into Ukraine to helping prop up the Assad regime in Syria to selling of planes and w

They have maintained that the conservative wing in this country is cold-hearted, mean spirited, and full of hate. They couldn't be more wrong. The true hatred lies on the Left. It is a deep hatred based in envy and jealousy. It is a darkness of the heart, mind, and soul. And the vast left-wing conspiracy is a political and cultural threat to our republic. It is a very vocal minority that seeks to cause chaos and anarchy to pressure others to move towards a more socialist society. Political pundits, professors, psychologists, the media, and even sports personalities and actors have all given their reasons behind the Trump phenomenon.  It has been an interesting seven months thus far and the multitude of theories given have ranged from plausible to completely off the wall.  I believe there are six factors that have come into play to help with this rise of Donald Trump.  My thesis is that it isn't one thing, but a combination of several things, some more important than others, that have played into his success in the Republican Party run for the nomination to be President of the United States. First of all, and I believe most important of the six factors, is the complete and utter failure of the Republican Party to live by their own conservative platform.  The GOP has for too many years now, pandered and promised conservatives and evangelicals they would stand up and reverse the liberal policies of the Democrat Party.  They have asked for the votes of conser

History, above all else, gives us the knowledge and insight, if we are wise enough to use it, to hopefully learn from previous experiences. The quote that begins this piece is an excerpt from "The Finest Hour" speech given in 1940 by Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill. The battle he is referring to is the battle against fascism and the likes of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. Yet, this same quote fits perfectly with our current battle against Islam. This may be the most important battle we have faced since World War II and yet few people are willing to acknowledge it. Islam is the new fascism of today. I grew up in a small suburban town just north of Milwaukee, WI in the 1970's and 1980's. My parents were middle-class hard working folks who always provided a safe and loving home for my brother and myself. It was, by most standards, your typical small town with a McDonald's and a Ben Franklin store and several churches of varying denominations. The elementary and middle school were just a block up the street from our first house and the baseball field and basketball courts were easily accessible for kids like myself to play all day long in the summer.
