When the news broke that Michael Flynn had resigned from the position of national security adviser, the loud cheers from those on the left were deafening. They managed to torpedo one of President Trump's closest advisers. If you listened to the mainstream media and print journalists over this incident, you would be led to believe Flynn had done something highly illegal and it was a major scandal. The old saying is, where there is smoke, there is fire. But is that true in this case? Behind every headline is a story and behind every story there is so much to talk about. By now, most people have heard the liberals comparing President Trump to Adolf Hitler. One can assume this is due to Trump's immigration reform policies, his stance on Muslims and Muslim refugees, his ongoing conflicts with the mainstream media and print journalism, and his campaign slogan of "Make America Great Again". The more interesting analysis is why they would exactly do this. There are a couple reasons one can conclude for this. One reason would be they are not well-versed in German history and have just a cursory knowledge of NAZI Germany and thus don't honestly know the facts and truth of history. As we continue to see the Democratic Party move more and more to the left, it is important to put it in perspective through the lens of history. John F. Kennedy has long been a revered man among Democrats. However, he has become a man without a party. The Democratic Party has abandoned his ideology and worldview and shifted towards a more socialist platform and agenda. In the span of the last fifty years, the Democrats have moved from a president who believed strongly in cutting taxes to one who believed in raising taxes. From a president in JFK who believed in standing by your friends and having a strong military to one in Mr. Obama who has consistently stabbed our friends in the back and cozied up to our enemies. As we continue on this transition phase in Washington DC, it is the perfect time to offer some sage advice to Mr. Trump and the Republicans in Congress. It is essential to use history as a guide and to learn from previous experiences to make the road ahead smoother. As Republicans get ready to have full control of Congress and the White House, there are some lessons that need to be learned. This is a unique opportunity to craft and push through some conservative legislation and work on fixing a multitude of issues that have a great need to be addressed. Failing to take advantage of this golden opportunity would be a tragic setback to our republic and to the many Americans who voted for a real change of direction. With the death of Cuban strongman, Fidel Castro, it becomes necessary to put his impact in a bit of historical perspective. Far too many people have begun to pay glowing tributes to him, and are trying to soften the image of a dark and brutal dictator. By choosing to nullify the evil, liberals are doing a grave disservice to history. To be fair, you could find traces of good in Stalin, Hitler, Chairman Mao, and numerous other evil dictators throughout the course of history, if you chose to look hard enough, but the fact remains they were evil men who killed millions of people and paved a trail of misery and despair for millions more. Fidel Castro is no different, so let's not allow a rewriting of the truth.
