Choices. Life is all about choices. God gives us free will to pick and choose how we want to live. Most choices we face are mundane. White bread or wheat? Coke or water? In the short term there isn't much of a real consequence. In the long term there might be more severe consequences. Coke may taste better than water and be quite thirst quenching but it can rot out your stomach lining and teeth over years of drinking it. Every choice has a certain consequence that goes with it be it positive or negative. Some choices are very clear and distinct while others are more difficult and blurred. Same goes for elections and who we choose to vote for. With the midterms this November there will be a choice between a bitter deal or a raw deal. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) When Senator Rand Paul stood up on the floor of the United States Senate on Thursday and went on a long tirade pointing out the amount of wasteful spending of taxpayer money you knew he would catch the ire of many of his colleagues. He was called a showman and a brash carnival barker who is the "perennial annoying gadfly" in Washington. All that may be true, but the one thing Mr. Paul is more than anything else, is honest. So politicians sold their constituents a bill of lies to get elected again. Stop the presses, I know. Same old, same old. That is the normal reaction by most people in our republic. The question of the day is, when is enough, enough? In case you hadn't heard, seven Republican senators voted against a "Clean Repeal" of Obamacare on Wednesday in the United States Senate. Six of the seven did a flip-flop on repealing the imploding fiasco that is Obamacare. Those six senators are Sen. John McCain of Arizona, Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio, Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, Sen. Dean Heller of Nevada, Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and Sen. Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia. The seventh senator was Sen. Susan Collins of Maine.
