An American Tragedy

Image
A tragedy is defined as a play dealing with tragic events and having an unhappy ending, especially one involving the downfall of the main character. That main character is typically brought down by his/her own flaws, which usually tend to be ordinary human flaws. Given America's current political landscape there are numerous words that could be chosen to describe how a once great constitutional republic has found itself in the midst of a Bolshevik revolution. Ironic, for a country who fought against fascism and communism, that it now finds those same fascistic winds blowing in the land of the free. However ironic it is, tragic most aptly sums up how America has fallen due to its own flaws. Those flaws include ignorance, apathy, a broken moral compass, a loss of patriotism, and a distinct move away from God.     Just forty years ago, Ronald Reagan ushered in an American revival. After the dark malaise of the Carter years, he infused a shot of patriotism and energy that reinvigorate

What If...

Image
As a student of history and politics my opinion has always been that America has freedom and liberty in the DNA of the people. Compared to a country like Germany, for example, where the people have been more accustomed to kings and strong government control, America has had a rich tradition of rugged individualism and independence. My thought has been one where the idea of socialism ever becoming vogue in our republic was largely laughable. But what if that basic assumption is wrong? What if that particular gene in the blood of Americans has been gradually removed over the last one hundred years, generation after generation? What if the progressive crowd has been largely successful in reshaping and indoctrinating Americans to be more open and receptive to the socialist ideology? What if the American people have been steadily weaned off of critical thought and common sense? What if ignorance and apathy are so pervasive in our republic that people just don't know or don'

Death, Tyranny, And The Pursuit Of Misery

There was a time not too long ago when the Democratic Party was more subtle in their wording. You had to read between the lines a bit more to understand their code words. Words and phrases like "for the people", "a working wage", and "a fair shake for all" were more nuanced ways to ultimately candy coat their socialist ideas and platform. But that was before Donald Trump came along. Hard to say what is more frightening and disconcerting. The fact that Democrats like Hillary Clinton lied for so many years when they said they wanted abortion to be safe, legal, and rare or that they feel so free and open now they don't have to lie anymore. What is not up for argument is that over the last several days and weeks that veil is now completely gone. The Democrats have been tripping over each other to show the American people just how much they have become the Party of Karl Marx. From Elizabeth Warren wanting to create a wealth tax on Americans with more t

Churchill's Three Simple Truths Of History

Image
What is truth? That seems like a difficult question to answer these days. We are living in an era where truth seems hard to define. Truth is defined as a verified or indisputable fact, principle, proposition, or the like. History shows us truths that generation after generation fail to understand and acknowledge. Winston Churchill recognized three simple truths years ago and it behooves us to learn them in our present world in which we live. Failing to learn these historical truths only makes our current world that much more dangerous than it need be. So what are these three simple truths of history? 1) Socialism Sucks Yes, this may be blunt, but it seems to be the best way to drive the point home. History has shown us time and time again that socialism has been a complete and utter failure everywhere it has been tried. Venezuela is just the latest example of how a country once rich in oil and natural resources squandered it by pursuing the socialist ideology. The list is l

A Bitter Deal Versus A Raw Deal

Image
Choices. Life is all about choices. God gives us free will to pick and choose how we want to live. Most choices we face are mundane. White bread or wheat? Coke or water? In the short term there isn't much of a real consequence. In the long term there might be more severe consequences. Coke may taste better than water and be quite thirst quenching but it can rot out your stomach lining and teeth over years of drinking it. Every choice has a certain consequence that goes with it be it positive or negative. Some choices are very clear and distinct while others are more difficult and blurred. Same goes for elections and who we choose to vote for. With the midterms this November there will be a choice between a bitter deal or a raw deal. If you choose to cast your vote for Democratic Party candidates and a "Blue Wave" sweeps across our republic ushering in a Democrat controlled United States House and Senate then you will have opted for a bitter deal. They will more than

Life, Liberty, And The Pursuit Of Happiness

Image
Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Three very unique words intricately woven into The Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson didn't just pull these words out of thin air. He had a distinct purpose in choosing these particular words. It is important to note that these "unalienable rights" are not given to us by government but are endowed by God, our Creator. Our republic was established by our founding fathers to allow each individual to live life in freedom and pursue happiness in whatever ways they saw fit. Unfortunately, over time, we have seen these particular unalienable rights infringed upon more and more by a growing government interference in our lives. There is a certain segment of our republic who don't believe in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. They believe in death, tyranny, and the pursuit of misery. Instead of freedom and liberty they aim for chaos, anarchy, fascism, socialism, and communism. Make no mistake, there is an i

From JFK To Obama: A Seismic Shift In Ideology And Worldviews

Image
As we continue to see the Democratic Party move more and more to the left, it is important to put it in perspective through the lens of history. John F. Kennedy has long been a revered man among Democrats. However, he has become a man without a party. The Democratic Party has abandoned his ideology and worldview and shifted towards a more socialist platform and agenda. In the span of the last fifty years, the Democrats have moved from a president who believed strongly in cutting taxes to one who believed in raising taxes. From a president in JFK who believed in standing by your friends and having a strong military to one in Mr. Obama who has consistently stabbed our friends in the back and cozied up to our enemies. In reality, the contrast between Kennedy and Obama is a microcosm of the Democratic Party. It highlights a bigger problem that most Democrats have failed to see. That core problem is where this historical journey will lead us to. President Kennedy was a firm belie

The Left's War On America

Image
For many years now, the media and the Left, which are one in the same, have consistently continued the drumbeat of a vast right-wing conspiracy. They have maintained that the conservative wing in this country is cold-hearted, mean spirited, and full of hate. They couldn't be more wrong. The true hatred lies on the Left. It is a deep hatred based in envy and jealousy. It is a darkness of the heart, mind, and soul. And the vast left-wing conspiracy is a political and cultural threat to our republic. It is a very vocal minority that seeks to cause chaos and anarchy to pressure others to move towards a more socialist society. When you really talk to liberals and listen to them espouse their ideology and beliefs, you can't help but hear the envy and jealousy bubble up. What is at the heart of socialism? It is the redistribution of wealth and taking from the greedy rich to give to the working proletariat and bring some social and economic justice to society. They always claim th

Socialism: The Big Lie

Image
With the excitement and euphoria surrounding Sen. Bernie Sanders, especially from younger people, I often ponder why does socialism continue to lure in people. After years of historical evidence and the clear failure of the socialist ideology in numerous countries you would think it would be laughed off in a New York minute. And especially in America, where our founding fathers set up a constitutional republic, escaping the tyranny of a king. Yet, we find a self-proclaimed socialist in Bernie Sanders, drawing crowds of screaming fans, especially Millenials. Why? I have pondered this now for several weeks, and it is not a simple answer. I do believe part of it is due to our education system, which is constituted of a majority of liberals, shaping and molding the minds of our youth to the acceptance and positives of socialism. Since the 1960's the Left has managed to work their way into the education system at every level and been able to rewrite our history and reshape our you
